In the Properties section, there would be an option “Reinstall Driver”. Right click on the first one, and go to Properties. Once you open the Device Manager, under the “Human Interface Drivers” you would see two Touchpad options, both of which would have the yellow error icon. You need to just search for Device Manager and it would show up under the settings option, and this is the classic device manager that we see on Windows, and nothing specially seen in the Windows 8 OS. I am thinking that by choosing USB Input Device the first time around and then restarting and choosing Apple Multitouch the second time around that it clears the error and allows it to work the second time around. If you chose Apple Multitouch Device the first time around you will receive an error message. So for Windows 10 you should follow all the steps that Amit provides below but after restarting the Macbook you must repeat the steps, but this time instead of choosing USB Input Device, you must choose Apple Multitouch Device. I found this post online from Amit Bhawani and I found it will work for Windows 10 also on the Macbook, but with just one additional adjustment.
